U have such a big signature but nothing abt contribution to IV. Have u contributed anything to IV? If not, how do u thinkIV can fight for whatever it is fighting?
yes I have, I have been a contributing member from Apr 2006 when there just a handful of members. I have so far contributed 450 dollars in regular intervals of 100, 50. We also took up the talk to senator campaign in our state and met our 13 district congressman and senators from WA and explained IV's position. I have also provided input to IV core on how to contact them in DC. My wife regularly posts IV messages in orkut where she is an active member. I used to put my contribution in my signature until I read a post where people were complaining on putting up the signature. I plan to use my miles for me and my wife to go to DC if I get my time off approved. I had planned to go on 13th. I have gotten 10 contributing members to join IV so far. If you still have doubts on my IV contributions, let me know and I will be more than happy to do a public disclosure on my funds contributed!

Hey Bozo - I've been following IV for about 2 years now using my spouse's ID - I just created one for myself today - My wife and I have contributed to IV also. Know the facts before shooting your mouth off - NUT JOB!!!
Why not to use that very same ID you have been using for 2 years to post this one also? That way others will know you have been a member and also contributed in the past. No confusion and peace.

Later my wife made me realize that family life is most important as long as we are together, country of residence does not matter. When our son was born last month, I truly felt 'damn GC'.. funnily got approved in the same week:

This is so depressing ...
Are they still talking about increasing H1Bs? That will create a bigger mess and those new H1Bs will have to wait 20 years before they can apply I485. Hopefully those who wish to come here as H1B will know the reality and won't be "trapped" as some of us have.
If they are still coming, that would be... well... hopeless. :rolleyes:

One important observation is that EB2 India/China shouldn't celebrate until State changes their planning style. If CIS wastes visas due to swing movement by State, EB2 I/C doesn't move so much and numbers will be wasted. So it is important that IV push state to incorporate long term planning and add the CIS processing as a lead time to calculate visa dates movement at least for post July 2007.

If there is a media drive, I am sure other media will love to rape him and that may work against CNN and CNN will start watching things closely.
This can be just a start but I think we must target this guy - I am sure he will start turning tables and flip flop ...
Remember, America is all about law suits and every corporate makes itself immune from Lawsuit but youtube, google, internet and media is something they cannot immune themsleves from.

We might be looking at it the wrong way. The question is whether outsourcing is bad. Maybe thats not what the question should be. My view is that just like competition, outsourcing and globalization are facts of life. You can fight it, but it will not get you anywhere.
If you think of globalization and realize that the whole world is a marketplace then wont the whole world be a competition for your job?
When I think of outsourcing, I think of just another competition for your job. In some cases though when the entire department is being outsourced you are part of the herd. The same can be said for entire departments laid off.

My lawyer is asking 350 for EAD and 500 for AP for each person excluding filing fees.Is it normal.or Can I go to another lawyer for EAD and AP who is cheaper than my company lawyer.
In general they are inclusive ie 485 + EAD + AP for primary is $1000 and for additional is $500 which is a standard.

July 6th filer awaiting FP (no SR opened yet). My case has been transferred back and forth between Nebraska and California. I asked my lawyer - he advised me to "Sit tight as there is nothing that can be done except to wait for them to process my I140, I485, I765 and I131 applications."

There were times when I was really depressed, specially when I got delayed in New Delhi with "Name clearance" for H-1 renew. However, I believed in higher power and never lost hope. My parents (mother US citizen,father GC) always kept my spirits high. I also got a lot of support at my job (when I got stuck in India, my chief pulled all strings possible to get me cleared).
I also had a backup plan, where I could go to Canada or worst, can go back to India where I have an established practice.

Two years ago; Grassley sent a questionnaire to the top 10 Indian outsourcing companies of how they use non immigrant visas.
They did not have any legal obligation to answer his query. They answered his questions by non answering it.
Grassley then starts to increase the rhetoric and starts pressuring uscis/dol to start investigations.
uscis/dol start investigatin and denying cases and study it and find fraud.
now; Grassley is getting his way and starting to change policy.
Nascom senses game is over and come begging which is exactly what grassley wanted in the first place.
At the end; he will get these guys to agree to tough measures (ie., lca requirements for L-1; tougher measures on h-1b, etc.
See how Microsoft answered differently when they got the query and compare to these guys.
This system created in USA has a way of making you conform to their behaviour willingly or through long and painful way. Looks like they had to learn through long and painful way.

This is my first post so forgive if I am not in the right place,
But I have situation where in I need your inputs to decide.
I am working at a clients place and they willing offer me a full time position.
My Labor is approved Oct 2007 and Filed for I-140 receipt pending.
In this situation should I change my job or should I wait for I 140 to be approved or wait till I apply for I 485 , but as you know the priority dates have retrogressed for EB2 and I heard that they will be unavailable shortly.
I always wanted to get a full time right from my Masters but ended up as a consultant as I had to get my H1 done.
Please Advice!

Receipting is not done by VO and the staff who do receipting follow certain procedures.
USCIS mailroom has certain protocols and thats why even our AC21 documentation does not reach file.
Files are distributed to different officers and they work on the files.
Without a receipt number you cannot track your MTR.
Talk to a very good Attorney on further course of action.
I filed MTR - my 485 was denied because the officer ignored the AC21 job change. When I called customer service and explained - I was transferred to a VO and when I explained it, she requested me to file an appeal so that I don't have to pay instead f MTR.
When I talked to Attorney - she said "Don't do that - when your MTR gets receipted, you can track it but cannot track an appeal"
Remember MTR = if USCIS makes a mistake - MTR costs $$
Appeal = if you want AAO to consider various factors on a correctly interpreted denial and appeal to see if you can convince.
